چکیده

The damaged environment is a global problem. It is more serious in China because of the cultivable land destroyed. So the agroecosystem reconstruction is the primary object in China. A case of reclamation planning in LiaoNing Province was studied in this paper. A large number of abandoned land sites have become an urgent task for the local government since farmland is so short in this area. The land suitability and usage should be determined before the land reclaimed. Based on land-use mathematical models and software MATLAB 6.0, optimum land-use structure should fit for local ecological and economic requirement. The horizontal, vertical structure and food chains of the system should be considered. Ecological engineering was used to planning as the shelter-forest, farmland and livestock farms. Irrigation work was designed to remove the salt. The forestry, fishery, poultry breeding were set up after rehabilitation. Therefore, the regional environment can get a great progress and their economy will have a sustainable development. Additional

Preliminary studies on physical and chemical processes in the subsurface system in the land reclaimed from the sea

Land reclamation has played a significant role in the urban development process in coastal areas in many countries. Over the last 20 years, land reclamation has gained much popularity especially along coastal areas of the south and east China due to rapid development of industry and urbanization. While reclamation provides valuable land, it also creates various engineering, environmental and ec...

Spatial and temporal patterns of China’s cropland during 1990–2000: An analysis based on Landsat TM data

There are large discrepancies among estimates of the cropland area in China due to the lack of reliable data. In this study, we used Landsat TM/ ETM data at a spatial resolution of 30 m to reconstruct spatial and temporal patterns of cropland across China for the time period of 1990–2000. Our estimate has indicated that total cropland area in China in 2000 was 141.1 million hectares (ha), inclu...

Modeling the influences of land reclamation on groundwater systems: A case study in Shekou peninsula, Shenzhen, China

a r t i c l e i n f o Land has been reclaimed along the coastal areas in many parts of the world to meet the growing demand for houses and other land use. Over 15 km 2 of land has been reclaimed around the Shekou peninsula, Shenzhen, China. Land reclamation may have significant influences on groundwater systems but this problem has not been adequately studied. Using FEFLOW (Diersch, 2005), a th...

Spatially differentiated trends in urbanization, agricultural land abandonment and reclamation, and woodland recovery in Northern China

Uncovering magnitude, trend, and spatial pattern of land cover/land use changes (LCLUC) is crucial for understanding mechanisms of LCLUC and assisting land use planning and conservation. China has been undergoing unprecedented economic growth, massive rural-to-urban migration, and large-scale policy-driven ecological restoration, and therefore encountering enormous LCLUC in recent decades. Howe...

The influence of Atlantic-Eurasian teleconnection patterns on temperature regimes in South Caspian Sea coastal areas: a study of Golestan Province, North Iran

The main objective of this study was to reveal the impact of nine climate indices on temperature changes and climate oscillations in Golestan Province along the southern coast of the Caspian Sea. Climate indices data from across the Atlantic-Eurasian sector were collected from the NCEP/NCAR, the Climate Prediction Centre (CPC) and the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) over a period of 40 years (1971...
